Winners of IBT Essay Contests

Winners of IBT Essay ContestsAs I read through the profiles of students that were on the OBST TOK essay contests in my area, I realized that it was mostly students from upper-middle class and upper-class backgrounds who were participating in the various TOK contests. While these students do belong to this first group of readers of these kinds of contest profiles, there are some very interesting differences in their profiles. Many of these student winners of the essays that they wrote are people with a lot of money and a big house. These students tend to write about material that is familiar to them.In other words, these students often believe that they are writing about a 'simple truth.' It may not be a simple truth, but for many of these students, it is the only one that they know. This group of students believe that the more familiar the material, the more accurate it will be.The funny thing is that a lot of these students that I speak to just do not know enough about the history of Christianity to really know what to write about. A lot of these students do not really understand that their opinions as Christian students are not really representative of Christians everywhere. They are not even representative of the average level of Christianity in the United States. One of the most important things that you can do is make sure that you have very careful guidelines about what you are going to write about. As a Christian, when you are writing about something that is important to you, do not forget that you are also writing about your fellow believers. You are not just writing about yourself. As a result, if you are writing about something that you feel strongly about, you should make sure that you do not hold any religious views that are not widely held in your community. For example, if you are writing about a political issue, that is going to be a very different opinion than the view of a politician who is in office. Your views need to be representative of your c ommunity. When you look at the profile of the students that have won the essays that they wrote, you will notice that they are almost all from the upper middle class and the upper class. What is even more interesting is that many of these students went on to get Bachelor's degrees in Christian Education. As you can see, the difference between the profile of students that win the essays that they write and the profile of the other students that do not win the essays that they write is a very important one. If you want to win the IB TOK essay contests, you need to write about topics that are common to you, you need to be accurate in what you say, and you need to hold strong beliefs about what is important to you.
